What can you learn by Meditating?
You can learn that if you simply commit to sit for 1 minute the next time you may be able to sit for 2 minutes.
You learn that it is o.k. to be bored.
You learn that you can do one thing at a time.
You learn to follow your breath in and follow your breath out.
You learn what thoughts pop into your mind.
You learn that your mind will wander to…”I just can’t do this.”
What else will you learn?
That you should not just “Get Things Done,” but you should Get Things Done right.
You will learn that we need to stop, and think strategically not reactively.
You will learn that we need to pay attention to the person we are talking to.
You will learn that mindfulness meditation may be very helpful everyday.
You will learn to listen to your body.
You will learn that you don’t have to accomplish anything by just sitting and meditating.
You will learn that this list is only a small sample of what Mindfulness can teach you.
One of the best books I have read on Mindfulness is called, Meditation in Plain English, by Ven. Henepola Gunaratana and it is available in PDF. I am sharing it here if you wish to read more.
