Autism-Friendly initiative scheduled for January 19, 2013 for
adults and children on the autism spectrum
Open Door Theater of Acton will present an autism-friendly live theatrical performance on Saturday, January 19, 2013 during the run of the musical Annie at the Dragonfly Theater (16 Charter Road, Acton). This special performance will be tailored to meet the needs of adults and children on the autism spectrum. Since its inception in 1980, Open Door Theater of Acton has had a unique mission to create learning experiences through theater for adults, children, and people with special needs; the autism-friendly performance is just one of a series of initiatives started by Open Door over the years to accommodate various populations with special needs. To ensure that the needs of this special audience will be met during the autism-friendly performance, Open Door is working with the Autism Alliance of MetroWest to put special accommodations in place. Open Door is also offering discounted tickets intended for families whose members include individuals on the autism spectrum. We are grateful to the Astra Foundation for their generous support of this effort. For more information log on to www.opendoortheater.org/autismfriendly or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
